A National Conference on “Recent Advances in Statistical and Mathematical Sciences and their applications” is going to be organized during October 4-6, 2014 at Department of Statistics, Kumaun University, Nainital, Uttarakhand, India. The conference is sponsored by University grants Commission, Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, and Uttarakhand Council of Science and Technology.

 

The main objective of the conference is to emphasize the role of a statistician as an interface for developing interdisciplinary approach to solve the toughest problems of the humanity. The conference will have a key note address, plenary talks, and invited talks by eminent statisticians, mathematicians, and scientists from other disciplines. Besides, several sessions for presentation of contributory papers will also be organized. The broad areas of discussion are:

 

Design of Experiments, Time Series Analysis, Longitudinal Data Analysis, Bayesian Modeling, Sample Surveys, Mathematical and Computational Techniques, Medical Statistics, Bio-informatics, Reliability and Life testing, Multivariate and Large Data Analysis, Economics, Geo-informatics, Industrial Statistics and Management, Environmental Sciences, Physical Sciences.

 

          In addition to these areas, other topics of interest related to the basic theme of the conference will also be included for discussion.

 

Submission of Abstracts and Papers:

          One page abstract (250-300 words) with title, authors’ names, affiliation, address and key words formatted in MS Word should be submitted by email/post/FAX to the organizing secretary

Proceedings of the Conference:

          Proceedings of the conference will be published in a reputed referred journal. Participants who are interested to submit their papers for publication must send the full length paper before the deadline to enable them to be considered for publication.
